  Can this be used to replace an M&S model N-150 intercom system with six inside speakers, front door speaker and patio large speaker?

  A:

  You need the 6-room complete package, our sku 22770.  This includes the master, 6 room speakers, door speaker, chime and other materials that you need.  You will also need the patio speaker, our sku 22810 and a retrofit frame or surface box.  The description for the patio speaker will provide guidance on the appropriate one.  Call us if you need any help.

• Q:

  Why are there two rolls of wires in the image of this product? I thought existing wire can be used!

  A:

  This is the door cable speaker wire and antenna wire for new installations.  These wires come in the rough-in housing box for the master station.  This is included from the manufacturer because they do not have a different rough-in retrofit box vs. a new construction box.

  Do the make an outdoor speaker, one like the unit you would put in a bedroom that attaches to this system for a patio wall that's weather proof?

  A:

  The DMC4RW is a weather resistant patio station that either uses a DMCFRW update frame, or a new DMC1HRWS surface mount box.

  can you replace an old nutone with a retro m&s system

  A:

  You are able to replace an old Nutone system with a M&S retrofit system.  The kits the we put together include 4-wire room stations.  Most older Nutone systems are either a 3 or 6 wire system with some other types here and there.  It may be best to call in to discuss and to create a customized quote.  800-533-3249.

  Does this replace the old MS-500 unit?

  A:

  The M&S MC500 is a 6-7 wire system.  For this replacement system you want to use a M&S DMC1 model  or an Intrasonic RETRO system.

• Q:

  I have an old DSC intercom that has 4 wires and am planning a large remodel. Can I replace the DSC with the M&S retrofit? I know that the wall units will have to be replaced with changes to the wall I just want to be sure the 4 wires will work. Thanks

  A:

  The DMC3-4 can work with any 4 wire system.  The trick with those systems is that there is typically a hub in the basement or unfinished area of the house that the wires run back to.  This is where the master station would be required to go.  The room station would not require as large of frames that come in the update kit.  Please call in to discuss so we can personalize a quote for you.  800-533-3249

• Q:

  We bought a house with an M&S 300/350 4-wire system with 1 door, 5 indoor and 1 patio speaker which we no longer works. Would the DMC3-4 Complete Retrofit Intercom be right? Also, we have since added an addition with a rear entrance. We might want to add an indoor wall speaker and potentially another doorbell/speaker to the system. What would we need to do this? Is there an option that can be done wirelessly?

  A:

  The DMC3-4 system is one option for a replacement of the M&S 300/350.  The other option in an Intrasonic RETRO series which has a few more features.  No matter which system the 300/350 is upgraded with, a new wire would need to be run for an additional door or room station.  What is needed would depend on how the items would be mounted.  Please call in so we can discuss with you.
