This Nutone VX1000 central vacuum unit has been discontinued.  This was a 240 volt unit and Nutone doesn't carry them any longer.  Please check out our suggested replacement unit, the VacuMaid SR820.

The NuTone VX1000 bagged central vacuum power unit has a sleek design that saves space by having the ability to mount close to the wall. This unit features internal sound suppression assuring for quiet operation. The dual vacuum air intakes are located on both sides allows for a lot of flexibility with installation location, and a six foot power cord for even more convenience. 

The NuTone VX1000 has a corrosion resistant flame retardant engineered thermoplastic housing with oversized debris pail handles for quick and easy removal. This unit uses a disposable bag that’s recommended to be changed out about every six months and with the easy access door, this makes it convenient to change the bag. The disposable bag features HEPA rated media, anti-microbial protection, and anti-stick technology to trap dust and bacteria better than ever. There is a status light on this unit that indicates when the disposable bag is full, and as a safety feature the unit will automatically power off when the bag is full to avoid rupture.

    I currently have a VX475 that died. Will the VX1000 hookup to the electrical connections and suction hoses with out modifying them. Can I assume that the external dimensions are the same as the VX475? Thank you

    A:

    The VX1000 is a 240V machine that is different then the VX475 120V.  For a proper replacement, you want to look at the Valet AT-120, or the Nutone PP600.  All of our new central vacuum units come with a 5' piece of pipe, 4@ 90 degree elbows, 2@ 45 degree elbows, and 2@ couplings for any slight moving that would be required.
