The NuTone S10941236 is a replacement motor for some NuTone VX550 series central vacuum units.  It fits units with the following serial numbers:

  • VX550:  AE10 or later
  • VX550C: AF10 or later

For units with prior serial numbers, the motor is no longer available. 

This motor has a tangential discharge that allows the air to bypass the electrical components out through an exhaust horn, thereby extending the life of the motor.

    can I return this if it doesn't fit

    You can return within 30 days if it doesn't fit.  This motor is a replacement for Nutone VX550 with serial number starting with AE292 or later and Nutone VX550C with serial number starting with AF322 or later.  If your serial number is prior to these series, the motor that you need is no longer available.
