The NuTone S10941231 is a replacement motor used in later productions of NuTone VX1000 series central vacuum units.   The Ametek Lamb number is 122039-07.  For early productions of these series,  the motor is no longer available.

This has a tangential discharge that allows the air to bypass the electrical components out through an exhaust horn, thereby extending the life of the motor.

    I have a VX1000 SN AI22100101477. I believe the motor is failing. It starts to smell (like a hot electrical motor) after a short use. What are my options? It was installed in 2010 or 2011.

    A:

    You can replace the motors or replace the unit.  We have options for both.  If you replace one motor, it makes sense to replace both. This would be the correct motor.

    I have a Nutone VX1000 with SN AI26100915048. Will this motor fit? If so, do you sell these in pairs?

    A:

    Your serial number is to old for these motors.  They changed after serial numbers went to AI282 and later.  The only thing we can offer is a unit replacement.  We suggest the Valet ATQ-4000.
