The Intrasonic Retrofit Room Station is designed to be installed using existing wiring and can operate on 3, 4, 6 or 7 wires. This unit supports 8-ohm ceiling or in-wall speakers. The RETRO-5R features hands free communication, station tuning at the room station, optional door release, and the ability to monitor individual or multiple rooms. The intercom broadcasts to every room until the call is answered. Once answered, the automatic selective call function will make the conversation private between the two parties. You have a choice of 2 different music sources (radio or auxiliary input) in each room, so you can listen to the radio in one room and an MP3 player in another.

    Can I use this Intrasonic 5R to replace a model 2027 speaker. My existing system is 3 wire. The old master station was upgraded a few years ago to IMA 3303. If so is there a wall plate that be added to hide the larger opening of the 2027 speaker

    The Intrasonic speaker only works with Intrasonic RETRO systems.  You entire system would require an update.

    is this room station a vertical one?

    A:

    The room station does not dictate the mount.  The frame does.  If you need a vertical frame to cover an old hole roughly 6"w x 8"h, then go with the RETRO-5RV

    I just purchased a whole home Retro system from you. It took 7 months to arrive. All good. I have decided that to add another station for my basement would be good. Do you have Retro-5R in stock or is there a long delay?

    Rooms are in stock.  If you are cutting into a new wall, you will need a RETRO-NCR as well.
