• Q:

  I bought these as part of a package for a house under construction. Now that it is rough-in installation time I am not certain if it matters which way is "up"? With the A/C box at the bottom as shown in the photo I am limited in the range available for the 90 degree elbow. So is it ok to install with the A/C box on top? This would mean the spring loaded cover would pivot at the bottom instead of the top but I am not sure if that matters?

  A:

  Most installations have the A/C box at the top with the 90 degree elbow facing down.  The inlet and box can be mounted either way depending upon preference.  The cuff on the hose end is stiff and prevents the hose from resting on the door if the door folds down.

  Yes, this is the new model.  The face plate is the same.

  This will work.

• Q:

  Is there a coupler available for this item to extend the inlet plate or a plate with a longer tube? We installed shiplap over the drywall and the plate needs to extend beyond the shiplap. Thank you.

  A:

  If you were adding thickness to the wall and needed to extend the inlet, you can use the inlet extension valve.

  I have installed an old Vantage fax system in my home from 25 years ago. Will your parts be standard to those old central vac systems?

  A:

  It depends on which parts you need to purchase.  If you need installation materials, ours will work if you pipe is 2" OD.  If you need accessories, ours will work if the inside diameter of your vacuum inlets is 1.5" and inside diameter of your attachments is 1.25".

  Will this work with a 50+ NuTone CV450 system?

  These are universal outlets.  If your old outlets look like this, then these will work.

  I'm trying to replace a Vaculine 5566/5567 (this is what is molded into the existing piece) inlet that looks to me to be the same as these, am I correct?

  A:

  We are unable to cross reference the 5566 number.  Vaculine generally made electralvalves and hayden made supervalves.  Hayden and Canplas are now made in the same factory.  It may be easiest if call us and send a picture to 443-903-2225 or email [email protected] and we can help.  The electravalve styles has changed in the past few years.

  A:

  Yes.  Many central vacuum brands used this type of inlet.  If yours looks like this, then it will work.

• Q:

  Hayden SuperValve Square Door Inlet White. Will this work with an old Turbocat central vac system?

  A:

  The Turbocat is an air driven powerhead that does not require an electric connection at the inlet.  More times then not, the Turbocat uses a low voltage inlet.  Maybe check the square door inlet that looks like the super valve, but only uses low voltage wires.
