The Plastiflex Plaster Guard is a temporary cover used to protect the mounting bracket from drywall joint compound, routing bits, wall texture sprays and paint. It is used only with a Plastiflex mounting bracket. A recommended alternative is the Vaculine Plaster Guard, sku 13235, which protrudes 1/2" past the studs and helps prevent the inlet being covered by sheetrock.
