The NuTone PP650 hybrid central vacuum power unit is no longer available.  It has been replaced by the PP7001 model.

The PP650 combines powerful suction and unmatched filtration to remove dust and other allergens from your home. This series is among the quietest in the industry for peaceful cleaning with sound-absorbing materials, a rigid structure, and anti-vibration mounts. The multi-direction vacuum inlet and wall mount supports allow for easy installation even in small spaces, and a six foot power cord for even more convenience.

The NuTone PP650 has a metal housing with a polymeric debris pail that features large ergonomic latches to make emptying your central vacuum easier. This unit features flex collect debris disposal offering a hybrid solution for bagged or bagless in one unit, so if you run out of vacuum bags simply switch modes and continue vacuuming. The sealed HEPA technology captures the debris while vacuuming, and drops down when you're done for self-cleaning.  This also has glued seams to optimize efficiency of the HEPA membrane to ensure maximum dust retention versus standard HEPA filters.

    I am needing to replace a Nutone CV400 vac. I would like to purchase a new unit with the highest cfm possible. Any suggestions?

    A:

    The Nutone PP650 has the highest CFM out of there 3 newest machines.  The largest CFM machine that has a single motor and is 120 volts like the CV400 is the VacuMaid SR800.  This unit has the largest single motor that is available.  They are great units with 10 year warranties.  They are made in the US.  They have an all steel canister.  Please feel free to call in to discuss if you would like.  800-533-3349.

    WHAT UNIT WOULD BE COMPARABLE TO THE CV40-D I NEED TO REPLACE MY OLD UNIT THANKS

    A:

    The best replacement that we have found for the CV40D is the Valet ATQ-180 or ATQ-1500 depending upon the homes square footage.  All central vacuum manufacturers inflate their square footage.  If the vacuum unit says it is rated at 8,000 square feet, then do not put it in a house over 4,000.  This should be done for all levels of central vacuum systems.  The PP650 is also an option.
