The Cen-Tec CT20QD Replacement Powerhead with Wands  is a replacement for the Nutone CT600 which is no longer available.  It is compatible with all hoses used with the CT600.

This Cen-Tec CT20QD features dual brushed edge cleaning, allowing the user to vacuum close to walls and furniture. The wrap around furniture guard protects objects from scratches and scuff marks. This powerhead contains a built-in full width headlight, making cleaning in low light easy. The 4-position height adjustment foot lever allows the user to customize vacuum operation according to carpet thickness. The QuietDrive Poly-V belt lessens noise from chatter vibration for a quieter vacuuming experience.

When something becomes lodged in the powerhead, the overload protection switch automatically turns off the power. This protects the motor from burning out. Once the item is dislodged, the user simply pushes the reset button to restart the motor.

    Will this power head replace a nutone 598 power head without having to replace the hose? Thanks

    A:

    Yes, this will work.  If you have a 4" extension on your hose handle or longer, you may need an extension cable.

    Will this scratch hardwood floors?

    A:

    The wheels are rubber so there is no metal touching the surface.  The brushroll does spin.  It should not scratch hardwood floors unless something gets tangled in the brushroll.

    Will this powerhead work with the Cen-Tec hose Model #xz100 Serial 04-20? Or is there other info needed off the hose that would help?

    Generally yes, however, the Centec hoses could have recessed or flush hoses.  They could also have standard or dirt sensing models.  It is best to call in at 800-533-3249 to discuss.
