The Nutone NM200 Trim Kit has been discontinued.  The M&S DMC1PACK Trim Kit would be a comparable replacement. There is a color difference.

The NuTone NM200 4-Room Intercom Trim Kit is an intercom and music distribution system that is designed for residential use. Features include:

  • The ability to set the system to turn music on/off automatically at a predetermined time. This allows you to wake up or go to sleep to music.
  • A built-in AM/FM radio with 16 preset options (8 AM and 8 FM).
  • An auxiliary input that supports up to 2 external audio devices.
  • The ability to set remote stations to intercom only, radio plus intercom, off, or monitor.
  • The ability to control radio stations from the intercom stations.

    Is it easy to replace my old NuTone system with this newer system?

    A:

    This product is a trim kit for a new installtion with the proper housings installed in the wall.  An old Nutone system would requires a 3 wire retrofit kit or a 6 wire retrofit kit.  All existing wiring stays the same, and we supply update frames so there is no drywall patching or repair work.

    My old system is not working what do I need to use your trim kit Thanks

    A:

    This trim kit may or may not work as a replacement for your old system.  To determine an appropriate replacement, we need to know the make and model of your system, quantities and dimensions of the speakers and description of the outside speakers.  It is generally easier to call us when you have this information and are at the house.

    We have an old nutone system in the house and it plugs in with a wire harness. Are these comparable?

    A:

    The old Nutone intercoms that plug in with a qire harness are generally a flat ribbon cable with a IM-4006 intercom master.  All the new systems do not use this plugging technique.  Depending which system is chosen, the plugs have to be cut off and stripped back 2-3"and re-attached to a new set-up.  The Nutone NM200 system requires all 6 wires to be stripped back on both ends which can be very tedious.  The Intrasonic RETRO system only required 3 wires to be used.  This can be very appealing for timing and use/features of the system.  Please look over and call us with any questions.
