• Q:

I have a Vacumaid central vac purchased in 2009/2010. The o-ring that seals the hose to the handle has worn out and is leaking. The handle pins that enter the hose nozzle are also broken and leaking. There is one handle plastic retainer where the screw goes in the hold the handle together is broken. Does your handle repair kit include all the pieces needed to repair the handle? Does it include the o-ring sealing the hose? Does it come with the hose connection piece? This piece is screwed onto the flexible hose and fits in the handle. Does it come screwed together or in two separate pieces? The tabs the screws go into appear to break when trying to unscrew them to separate the two halfs. Please let me know. Product SKU 12513.

The handle repair kit provided by the manufacturer includes the screws, 2 handle forms, metal tube, and hose connection piece. The small O-ring that helps connect the hose to the hose connection piece comes in the switch kit that is found on the website. If there are any other questions feel free to call in at 800-533-3249.

I have a Hoover Central Vac, purchased 2002, model S5684. Apparently one side of the switch in the handle is not working, Do you have the replacement handle?

    A:

This handle is the handle only and not the switch. The switch is sold separately. The model number of the unit does not have any bearing on the hose type. Please email a picture of the hose handle and your contact info to [email protected] and we will do our best to match the switch. If you handle is idenitical to the one in the picture, please use the universal plastiflex switch found here.

https://qualityhomesystems.com/product-details/shsgezhr01/The Switch Kit recommended for use with this handle has 4 electrical contacts. But the switch in my handle, which looks identical to the handle pictured, has only 2 contacts. Will this switch work with my unit?

    A:

It sounds like you only have a low voltage hose with a gas pump style handle. You would need the low voltage switch and wire harness.

  • Q:

I have an older style Astro vac. The hose itself screws into the handle. The metal tubing on the handle actually has broken completely in half. It’s the part of the metal from the handle that inserts into the metal tubing that goes down to the floor. Will this universal handle you have work

    A:

AstroVac typically used 2 different handle ends. If this handle end looks identical, then it will work. If it looks different at all, it may take a different handle and tube. Please call us to confirm if you are unsure.

Does this fit cen-tec dual power vac hose?

    A:

No this does not fit the Centec Hose. This handle fits the plastiflex hose. For the Centec hose handle, please see the 50723 handle repair kit. If you do not have this type of hose handle, it may be no longer available. Please call or email with any questions.
