    I have an early 1990s 4-wire, 9 speaker plus doorbell M&S intercom system with single CD player and am/fm radio. I would like to replace it with the DMC3-4 retrofit system and CD/mp3 player. Can I use the old wall housing and transformers etc, or do I need to replace that with a DMC1 HC housing?

    A:

    If you are replacing the system you will need to use the DMC1HC housing.  This has the proper depth and screw locations for the new master and CD/MP3 player.
