The Bagged Central Vacuum Power Unit is recommended for small-medium sized homes. This unit is constructed from galvanized steel for long-lasting durability and is powder coated for rust and corrosion resistance.

The Vacu-Maid SR38 central vacuum unit utilizes a sealed paper bag system for filtration. The 2-layer disposable bag has an inner liner to add resistance to bursting and strength for a longer life. The bag also acts as an electrostatic barrier. These bags are inexpensive and easy to dispose of, making maintenance simple.

    I have a 27 year old VacuMaid Model P125 which I was using earlier today. I unplugged it from one outlet and a few minutes later plugged it into another outlet. It had no power and though I've gone through the trouble shooting it seems I have no power even at the power unit. If I need to replace it, is the SR38 a comparable unit?

    A:

    The model SR38 is not a comparable unit.  The P125 is a cyclonic unit with no disposable bag.  The SR38 had a disposable bag.  The replacement for your P125 is the model S2400.  This is a cyclonic unit with an all metal motor which your P125 had.  Let us know if you have any other questions.

    I have a P-125 model. Will the SR138 interchange?

    A:

    The VacuMaid SR38 can work with the existing piping and attachments throughout the house.  The intake lines can match up, but there would need to be some minor adjustments to the exhaust piping.  If you call in the order, we can supply you with a 5' piece of pipe and some fittings to allow for this change.  Please feel free to call and speaker about this.  800-533-3249.

    I want to replace an in home old Black&amp;Decker Unit. My square footage two level home totals 2600sq.ft. A local installer of your product recommends the SR38.On Amazon they list two models,GV50PRO &amp;GV30PRO for a lot less than the $600+ price quoted me.Are garage vacs different than in-home units?

    A:

    The Garage Vacs sold by Vacu-Maid do not have a connection point for the piping in the home.  They are only designed to mount in the garage and have a hose plug directly into the front of the unit.  There is no way to hook piping up from the other ports throughout the house.

Had to replace my 27 year old VacuMaid. After consulting with Mike, I ordered this unit. He was very helpful; the vac was here in 2 days. Now installed and working like a charm. The quality of the product is excellent and made in the USA a plus.
