  I have a 35 yr. old system by nutone installed, would this fit over existing holes for speakers and master control

  This system is designed to replace Nutone systems.  This particular kit is designed to replace room stations that are approximate 6"w x 8"h.  If there are any room stations that are larger then this, we can customize a quote to adapt to your current system.  There needs to be at least a 3 conductor wire going from the master station to the door station.

• Q:

  Could you explain what the internal MP3 connection is? Does it fit older or newer iPhones? Or is it an AUX or USB connection? Hard to see in the pics.

  A:

  The internal MP3 connection consist of a USB port for charging and a 3.5mm (headphone style) auxiliary jack.  It can fit the iPhone 5's inside, but the 6's do not fit as well.  There is a second door that allows the phone to fit on the outside if it is to big.  There is also an optional Bluetooth Receiver that can mount inside the docking area and allow you to steam music through your iPhone so it is not require to be docked.

  Does this or any other unit that replaces the older NuTone systems have Bluetooth connectivity?

  A:

  This unit has an add-on feature of a Bluetooth Receiver that can be set in the docking station.  This allows you to stream from a smartphone or tablet things like Pandora and other live music streaming.

  Yes this system is designed to replace a Nutone 3003 system that uses 3 conductor wires.

  Is this compatible to replace the Nutone music intercom IM-4006 series?

  A:

  Ihe Intrasonic RETRO series can work with the IM4006 series intercom.  It has frames designed to replace room stations that are roughly 6"wide by 8"tall.  It is designed to replace a front door station that has a doorbell and speaker and only sticks out from the wall about a 1/2" or so.  Let us know if you have any other questions.

  We have a 30 year old 6 wire Nutone that we want to update. Would this system be compatible?

  A:

  Yes, this is a compatible system.  The system actually uses 3 of the 6 wires, but it will retro fit the existing wire and comes with trim plates for the room, door, and master station so there is no drywall patching required.

  I have a client with the Nutone 3303 system so 2 questions, will this work as the 3303 isn't specifically listed. What might we need to select if they have 9 indoor stations and 2 door stations?

  A:

  This sytem will replace the 3303 system.  If there are 9 inside stations that are roughly 6"w x 8"h, then you will need the 9 room package.  The system comes with one front door station, but if another is required, you will need to add another plus an update frame (sticks out about 1/2") or surface mount box (sticks out abot 2" or so).

• Q:

  Why is the RETRO package sold at so much more than the $875 for a new system, when it uses the old wiring? I should think it would be that much cheaper!

  A:

  The RETRO system requires update frames which add cost as well as more engineering to work with older intercom wiring.  The I2000 system does not include new wiring or labor to do so.

  I have an IM 3303. What size is the master station for the replacement

  A:

  The master station is 6" H x 15" W.  The complete system includes a trim plate that goes behind the master.  It covers up the larger cut-out.  This trim plate is 10" H x 18 3/4" W.

  Hello. I’m interested in updating my old nutone kit, but our model has 4 interior units, main unit, door unit, and an outside patio unit. Do you offer an outdoor speaker?

  A:

  Yes, you can use the RETRO-5P.  You will either need a surface box (sticks out 2-3" from wall), or recessed box (sticks out about 1/2" or same as room stations).

  I have a Nutone IM-4006 intercom master station is bad, can I just replace that or do I need to replace every rooms sub-stations for this to work?

  If you are replacing an IM-4406, you are required to replace all existing rooms, doors, patio's, etc.  If you are unsure what you may need, please feel free to call us at 800-533-3249

  Are every items, such as patio and door Intercoms and mounting boxes included in the package?

  The idea is to reuse all existing indoor mounting hardware.  The trim plates mount to this.  For the exterior stations, it depends on if they are surface mount (stick out 2-3") or if the are recessed (stick out 1/2").  If they are recessed, the proper parts are in the kit for the door station.  The patio is purchased separately.

  I have 5 rooms and 1 patio need intercom. Can I buy one more intercom speaker? How much is it?

  I have an old nutone 303 system. Will this retrofit with that system?

  A:

  Yes, this system is designed to fit.  The master station requires 120V power directly at the master.  Door stations require at least a 3-wire to the station.  The frame that comes for the door is designed to fit a recessed door station.  If you need a surface box, you will need a RETRO-DSB surface mount box.

  They system starts as a all call system.  Once the conversation begins between two rooms(or master), it then becomes a private call.  When you press talk from any location it calls all locations.

  Yes, this is compatible with your wiring.  The plates are for existing room stations that are roughly 6"w x 8"h.  The frame for the door is for a door station the sticks out from the wall only a 1/2" or so.

  If the interior rooms are roughly 6"w x 8"h and the door station sticks out from the wall about a 1/2" then this kit will work.  If anything varies from this then call for a customized quote.

  Will this unit replace/retro fit for the NuTone IMA-3303 Radio Intercom (IM-3303)

  A:

  This is a good replacement for the 3303 system.  The system has trim plates for the old rooms that were roughly 6"wide by 8"high.  The system has a trim plate for a door speaker that is recessed.  If the old system has different sized room stations or a surface mounted door station, then you would need to call in for a more customized quote.

  There is a patio station option that is not included in the kit.  If you have 3 rooms and 1 patio, it is best to call in to discuss and we can customize a quote.  If you have 4 rooms or more plus a patio, you can add the patio to the cart was well.  Along with the patio station, you also need an update frame (if the current station sticks out from the wall a 1/2" similar to the rooms) or a surface mount box(if the current station sticks out from the wall 2-3")

  We have a Nutone 3003 series system with indoor and outdoor speakers. Are there special speakers for outside?

  There are special front door and patio speakers.  If you have a 3003 with a 4 rooms that are 6x8 and 1 door speaker that has a bell button that sticks out from the wall about 1/2".  If you have a patio station or more or less stations, then call in and we can help with a quote.  800-533-3249

  My Nutone 3303 has a tape deck. What can that be replaced with?

  A:

  Nutone is no longer in the intercom business.  If you are asking what can replace the tape deck only, we do not carry any built-in replacements.  If you want to repalce your 3303 intercom system, this 24451 Intrasonic RETRO complete replacement intercom system may work for you.  We may need to modify the kit to fit your needs exactly.  We suggest that you contact us regarding details of your current system.
