The Intrasonic Room Station is used with the Intrasonic Music/Intercom System and mounts on a standard two gang box. It supports 8-ohm in-wall or ceiling speakers. This room station can communicate to the front door or to another room station. This unit has a 3.5mm input jack as a source to play iPods, MP3 players, and other portable music devices. The LCD displays the time, radio frequency and music source. This room station features listen/talk buttons, privacy option, hands free intercom, music source selection, optional door release, and the ability to adjust the master station radio tuner directly from the room station.

    Can I also add a speaker to this in the ceiling or wall

    A:

    These stations can allow for up to two external speakers to be connect to them.  When the speakers are connected to them, all music and intercom output goes through the external speaker.  All intercom voice input still goes through the room station.  Intrasonic sells a wide variety of ceiling and wall speakers.

    Yes, the I2000 Rooms can work with the I1000 system.
